The Office of course was not a huge ratings winner during its original run on NBC but became massive during its streaming after-life. Seinfeld on the other hand was massive during its original airing, and the show has managed to maintain its pop culture profile over twenty years after it went off the air. Indeed the show about nothing is big enough that Netflix paid over $500 million to secure its worldwide streaming rights, as the departure of both The Office and Friends left a huge hole in their selection of classic sitcoms.
